October has a way of settling in. The air turns crisp, the days get shorter, and around The Foundry, the season seems to find its rhythm. The doors are open, the stage is set, and another full month of music, gatherings, and good reasons to spend an evening in Basic City is underway.
There's something special about this time of year in the Shenandoah Valley. And inside a building that has been bringing people together for generations, we're glad to keep finding new reasons to gather. A little history. A lot of music. Cold Basic City beer.

Winegrass Album Release Party: Americana and Alt-Country, Friday, October 2

Winegrass is a modern Americana and alternative country band born in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, and they make their Foundry debut with a hometown album release party.
Expect soulful vocals, lived-in storytelling, and a set that moves from laid-back Americana to full-room roots rock. Show at 8 PM. Free admission, all ages.
Erik "Red" Knierim opens the night, with special guests joining throughout the show.
Metal Night with Seasons: Free Virginia Metal Show, Saturday, October 3

Metal Night at The Foundry puts Seasons at the top of a stacked bill of Virginia heavy music, with To Be A King, Gone Cold, Spiral Fracture, Aeonia, and Jund.
One stage, one night of crushing riffs and breakdowns, and no cover. Doors 6:30 PM, show 7 PM. Free admission, all ages.
Latin Dance Social with Bachata Flow, Sundays, October 4 and 18
Bachata Flow hosts a Latin dance social at The Foundry on Sunday afternoons. A bachata lesson runs from 4 to 4:45 PM, followed by open dancing until 8 PM with bachata, salsa, merengue, cumbia, and more.
No partner or experience needed. Entry is $10 at the door.
Line Dancing in Waynesboro: Hometown Line Dancing, Thursdays, October 8 and 22

Hometown Line Dancing is back on the floor two Thursdays this month, October 8 and October 22, with free line dancing lessons for every level.
Music starts at 7 PM and lessons begin at 7:30 PM, so first-timers are just as welcome as the regulars. Requests all night. Free admission.

Night Moves: The Ultimate Bob Seger Tribute, Friday, October 9

Night Moves, The Ultimate Bob Seger Tribute, returns to The Foundry for a full night of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band: Old Time Rock and Roll, Hollywood Nights, Turn the Page, Against the Wind, Mainstreet, and more.
If you were here the last time they rolled through Waynesboro, you know why we brought them back. Doors 6:30 PM, show 8 PM. Tickets from $25, and seated options are going fast.
Brisk: Free 90s and 2000s Alt Rock Show, Saturday, October 10

Brisk brings the alternative rock soundtrack of the 90s and early 2000s back to The Foundry stage at 8 PM.
We are also welcoming the Stuarts Draft High School Class of 1996 for their 30-year reunion starting at 6 PM, and the show is open to everyone. No tickets, no cover, all ages.
Fireside Collective: Bluegrass and Jamgrass, Friday, October 16

Fireside Collective returns to Waynesboro with a high-energy blend of bluegrass, Americana, folk, and roots music.
Tight musicianship, fearless improvisation, soaring harmonies, and blazing instrumentals from start to finish. Doors 6:30 PM, show 8 PM. Tickets from $20. All ages.

Four Thirty Four (434) with 21 Gunz and Savage Theory: Free Hard Rock Show, Saturday, October 17

Four Thirty Four (434) is back for another big night of live hard rock: heavy guitars, big vocals, and a show that feels right at home on our stage.
21 Gunz and Savage Theory round out a three-band lineup built for people who like their rock loud. Doors 6:30 PM, show 8 PM. Free admission.

The Four Horsemen (Metallica Tribute) with Vulgar Display of Pantera, Friday, October 23

The Four Horsemen with Vulgar Display of Pantera pairs one of the country's premier Metallica tribute bands with a full-throttle Pantera tribute.
Two legendary catalogs, two tributes, one massive night of metal in Waynesboro. Show at 8 PM. Tickets from $25.
Craft Sublime Artisan Market, Saturday, October 24
The Craft Sublime Artisan Fair returns on Saturday, October 24 from 11 AM to 4 PM. Shop handcrafted goods, artwork, specialty foods, and more from talented local artisans. Free admission and family friendly.
Glam'r Kiti: Free Rock Show, Saturday, October 24

Glam'r Kiti takes over The Foundry with big riffs, big hair, and straight-up rock and roll.
Doors 6:30 PM, show 8 PM. Free show, all ages. Come early, grab some food and a Basic City brew, and make a night of it.
Grave Rave: Halloween Weekend Bass Music with MOLDVTE and Faux Shaux, Friday, October 30

Grave Rave resurrects the festival trap and dubstep of the early 2010s for Halloween weekend, with MOLDVTE and Faux Shaux behind the decks.
Costumes encouraged but not required. Doors 8:30 PM, Faux Shaux at 9, MOLDVTE at 10. General admission $20 plus fees.

A great night at The Foundry begins before the lights go down. Whether you're grabbing dinner before a show, meeting friends for a drink, or lingering after the encore, there's always something happening just beyond the stage.
On tap at Basic City Beer Co.: Grin-Go, a Mexican mole stout at 9% ABV. It is a bold, rich stout layered with cacao nibs, Ugandan vanilla, warming cinnamon, and a rotating blend of peppers for a deep, complex sip with just the right touch of heat.
From the F'itchen: Neapolitan-style pizzas, hand tossed, cooked in the brick oven, and built for sharing with friends.
Sip City Soda Shop, right next to The Foundry, serves handcrafted dirty sodas, sweet treats, and plenty of old-school soda shop charm for kids and adults alike.
The Showroom, our speakeasy-inspired hideaway just steps from the music, pours handcrafted cocktails, wine, and Basic City craft beer in a relaxed room.
